Under Amour and the Terrain

Under Amour and the terrain

This March I am challenging myself to the fullest potential by hiking the Appalachian Trail. This time of year is very challenging because you may hit snow storms, muddy melt downs, and even better mud slides. But this being my 3rd time to have hiked the trail I know I am fully capable of accomplishing my goal.

The best thing about my Under Armour clothing  is that it’s more durable than my wool and nylon clothing and much easier to wear in layers. I wear my Under Armour Tech Long Sleeve to keep me warm in the earl mornings and the Under Armour Loos Fit Tee in the warmer afternoons.

I have a great collection of Under Armour Clothing to keep my dry and cool during the treacherous trudge. I have hats, pants, shirts, and gloves that were specially designed to with hold the below freezing temperatures and hot spells as well.

Hopefully I’ll have an adventure and do some great soul searching during my experience.

Peace,

Timber Tim

Under Armour Head Gear

January 18th, 2010

Because of the cold weather I finally have a chance to wear my Under Armour Duck Blind Camo Hood. Between working outside all week and chasing ducks on the weekend the Camo hood has been keeping my head and face warm. This top of the line hoodie is created with unique material formulated to wick away moisture and keep me dry. One of its greatest features is its capability to be an open face or full arctic mask. It can be adjusted to cover your neck only if the hood becomes to warm as the day progresses. No matter how I wear it this great Under Armour item is going to keep me warm and dry and the camo pattern only adds to my great collection of hunting gear.

Practical Christmas Gifts

December 8th, 2009

AAHHH Christmas is around the corner and I haven’t been able to shop because of my crazy work schedule and the lack of knowing what everyone wants. Christmas is much more challenging when you become older because gifts need to be practical and thoughtful. That’s why I am doing all my shopping online and only purchasing things my family will be able to use for years to come.

The easiest person to shop for is my brother because he likes anything and everything with the name Under Armour attached to it. This year I am going to purchase him a nice warm Under Armour Tackle Twill Hoodie. Not only will he be extra comfortable this winter, he’ll look good as well.

As for my Dad, he is very hard on his shoes and needs to take better care of them regularly to prolong their lives. So I decided to purchase him some Shoe care which includes Red Wing Leather Protector, Mink Oil, and Redwing footbeds. This gift is perfect because each item is inexpensive and they will each go a long way.

Now, all I have left to do is shop for my wife. I know she would love jewelry, but how practical is that? So I’m going to purchase her some High Visibility Clothing so she is extra safe when she works along the roadside while supervising. I know she will appreciate me thinking of her safety.

Now that I have half my shopping list thought out I better get to it so my orders arrive before Christmas.

Under Armour Artic Camo Beanie

November 16th, 2009

I was packing up for my annual trip to Lake Erie, and noticed that i could not find my Under Armour camo arctic beanie. This thing is the difference from keeping warm and try instead of cold and wet with sweat. They use a sweat liner that dissipates the moisture and allows your head to dry faster, which will keep you warmer. The fleece outside keeps the heat in and the wind out. I have learned to use the beanie in tandem with the under Armour hood. Between the two pieces they keep the wind and cold out. We all know that a large amount of heat can be lost through your head if not properly insulated. I had to purchase another one, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Red Wing Boot Oil

November 10th, 2009

Everyone knows the secret to keeping the life of ones boots is maintaining their outer core. The majority of work boots are put under the most hazardous situations considering men and women buy safety boots to protect their feet from harmful conditions. Because work boots play a big part in many jobs it’s important to maintain the strength and life of the boots.

Red Wing accessoriesoffer a majority of leather protectents, wearable foot beds, and multiple water proofing seals.  These products can be used on new, warn, and old shoes to help prolong their lives.

Red wing creates formulas such as Natures Seal, which work with the leathers rather than covering them. They condition the boot for longer life and maximum protection because the oils deeply penetrate the leather to preserve a water proof barrier that does not “wear-off” with usage.

High visibility clothing is essential to road work and any type of activity near a road.
The highly reflective clothing makes one more visible to oncoming cars no matter the weather conditions. It is now a law to wear these brightly assembled garments.

When purchasing some of the safety wear it may be wise to research what will best suit your type of work. Reflective clothes come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles. The Carhartt apparel sweatshirts and jackets will keep you warm and dry, the reflective vests can be warn over top any clothing you may already have, and hats, gloves, and other accessories will only help ease comfort and safety.

Workwear Climate Change

October 19th, 2009

This fall has been much colder than anticipated. Men and women who work in harsh elements are getting hit much harder than years past. It’s in their best interest to invest in weather proof gear from head to toe in order to be comfortable and get the outdoor jobs done.

Carhartt has a superior line of rain gear developed for such conditions. Whether the temperature is below freezing or comfortable it’s easy to find the finest gear for the job when it comes to Carhartt Clothing.

The temperature only seam to be dropping so prepare for the worst by adding hats, gloves, and other accessories to complete the winter wardrobes. Under Armour carries an excellent line of camo beanies lined with a warm fleece and stretch material to fit any size head.  Also, Redwing, the same great brand many rely on for their workboats, carries gloves meant to protect from water, cold, and other harsh elements ones hands may encounter during the work day.

Protect yourself this season, its better to be safe than sorry!

Iron Ranger

October 8th, 2009

A friend of mine told me that Red Wing Boot company started making the Iron Ranger boot  again. This had been one of the best selling longest lasting bots they ever made.  Originally designed in the 1950’s for the workers in the iron mines north of Red Wing Minnesota.  This area was known as the Mesabi Iron Range. This is the boot that kept the miners going, while they were the main source of iron for most of the American steel companies of the era.  I was pleasantly surprised to hear this because it was the same style boot that my grandfather and father wore.  I couldn’t help but to purchase a pair and try them out myself.  The craftsmanship is unreal.  The fit and sturdiness is like no other boot I have worn.  It’s nice to be able to get a quality, union made, work boot.  I’m betting this thing will wear like its name “Iron”.

UNDER ARMOUR WINTER

October 7th, 2009

Fall is the best weather around in my book. The cooling of the sun allows me to plan for the fun stuff.  I was thinking the other day about planning my yearly mountain bike ride out west.  I got my list together and realized that I was missing some essentials, like my Under Armour base layer.  This stuff keeps you warmer and drier than anything on the market.  It also wears just like the name.  You can’t hardly ruin this stuff.  Once I have it I will be ready to ride.  All the other layers are not nearly as important as what you start with.  Remember that dry equals warm.  That’s the key to being comfortable. Keep on rolling!
