Storm of the summer!
This last storm that blew through our part of town was a nasty one. The neighbors and I had to have a tree cutting party just to get back out to the main roads. We all got dressed in our workwear and got to the task at hand. We had several different brands of chains saws cranking. Thankfully we were stocked with all the accessories that were needed to keep them running. One good thing about our area is that our power lines are underground, so we did not have to worry about being zapped. We started cutting at 8:00 am, and never stopped until supper time. You know it’s bad when you can’t get to the main highway to get more supplies. We pretty much had no choice in having to work all day. Fortunately everyone had the right outerwear on, since we were still getting after showers. Some of the guys wore the wrong footwear and were getting some wet feet. I was lucky enough to have waterproof everything on. End of day were we all tired and hungry. Delighted though, that we were all safe from the storm and out of the mess we were in. It is nice to see all of your friends and neighbors come together and work as one when the pressure is on. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to be stranded with. Next time mother nature send something our way we will again be ready.
