As a woman in a highly male populated trade it is very important that I have an overpowering confidence that keeps me on top of my game. I started my finish carpentry business after realizing I enjoyed designing sets for the stage rather than performing on it . I should have known since my father was a carpenter and my father’s father was a carpenter I was destined to continue the tradition.
Carpentry is more of an art to me rather than a trade and my unique style and class gains very prosperous buyers, often gorgeous home-a-rama homes. Because these homes are known for there state of the art designs and capabilities it’s very important that I carry a strong self image along with my work.
The latest women’s workwear has made it exceptionally easy to present myself professionally and still perform my jobs. I love the extra long women Carhartt designs and the ladies steel toe boots made to fit the working women.
My confidence is never an issue when I can look as good as the million dollar homes I am finishing.
